Some people see junk; others see a frame for something weird. A modder on the Quest For Nostalgia channel picked a 1995 Dell and, instead of just wiring it to a PC, rebuilt the whole thing as a self-contained gaming machine.
The tricky part was making space. Hazardous electronics and the heavy glass tube had to come out before a modern 17-inch LCD could be fitted. To keep the original feel, he added a special controller (e.g., one that translates the front-panel switches), so the tactile buttons still change brightness and contrast — esp. the ones you’d instinctively press, like in the old days.
Inside sits surprisingly recent hardware: what the builder calls mid-range components, topped by an RX 6900 XT. It’s almost ironic — cutting-edge GPU inside a case that remembers PS/2 connectors — and yes, managing heat and cables was part of the deal. The finished piece actually handles current games while wearing its 1995 skin.
