The streaming giant Netflix has put out a teaser for the animated series "Bass from the Machine", created by LeShawn Thomas (he worked on the 2021 anime "Yasuke"). Production is handled by S. Korean company Studio Mir, the same outfit behind two seasons of the Devil May Cry adaptation produced by Adi Shankar. Imagine a steampunk Wild West — gears, grime, quicksilver deals — and at the center a father who has to take the law into his own hands to keep his family safe from criminals. It's less about heroic speeches and more about blunt choices when the usual systems fail (i.e., survival, not philosophy). The lead is voiced by Brian Tyree Henry (see Bullet Train, Atlanta), and the cast also includes Tati Gabrielle — fresh from Mortal Kombat 2 and set to appear in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The project lands on November 3, 2026; trailers hint at tone and style, but take them with a grain of salt.
