The EVE universe insists that peace is merely a temporary debug. From July 7 to 20, Operation Avalon runs in EVE Online and EVE Vanguard. Players are sent out to grab resources. They’ll ambush convoys and—for those who enjoy personal vendettas—settle scores across whole star systems.

In EVE Online, capsuleers can go after AEGIS convoys, hack objects to pry out secrets, and pick up trophies that mark you as the cause of someone’s bad day. There’s also a hunt for intel tied to the shadowy Project Nemesis; the cryptographic codes you pull can be traded for rewards and count toward your faction’s control of Avalon (i.e., help your empire gain ground). Risk-takers who chase down damaged transports may find hidden sites with richer loot — and traps, ambushes, and other unpleasant surprises you didn’t ask for. Meanwhile, EVE Vanguard pushes the fight onto planetary surfaces. A new arena, Lost Convoy, has been added; evacuation mechanics were reworked, and fresh weapons plus another chapter of the story arrived with the update. Rewards include exclusive gear and modules, skill points, cosmetics, etc. — little perks to make the chaos feel worthwhile.
