Clutch has officially landed a publisher. Maverick Games has signed with Focus Entertainment to handle the release of their debut project. The studio, set up in 2023 by former Forza Horizon devs, is building a cinematic open-world racer where pro vs. underground street racing collide along the French Riviera. Platforms named so far are consoles and PC (current & next-gen, TBA); a Russian localization hasn’t been confirmed, though with Focus on board a ru translation seems likely at launch, esp. given their usual practice — still, no promises.
It sounds slick, and yet I can’t help but wonder how “cinematic” will play with open-world freedom; personal bias here — I like grittier, less-polished racing vibes sometimes, so I’ll watch previews with cautious interest.
