Free Weekend Started in the First Subnautica to Celebrate the Upcoming Sequel Launch
Late last week, the folks at Unknown Worlds Entertainment launched a short promo: until April 6, 8:00 PM MSK you can play the original Subnautica for free on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Think of it as a free wknd to drown in bioluminescent chaos.
The timing isn’t random — it lines up with the approach of the early build of Subnautica 2. The deal applies in Russia too, and your progress will carry over (saved on your account).
If you’re wondering how much you can see: an avg. playthrough runs about 30–40 hrs, so two or three intensive days could cover most of the game’s content without spending a ruble. About Subnautica 2 — EA is still slated for May. It’s coming to PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series (incl. Game Pass). Heads up for RU players: there won’t be a Russian localization.
