Rosario Dawson Complained That She Was Cut Out of the Movie "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"

Claire Temple, it turns out, won’t show up in the new Spider-Man film — even though Rosario Dawson says she shot a scene. Dawson, known from Ahsoka and Daredevil, mentioned the cut during a GalaxyCon panel complained. She sounded…annoyed, understandably so.

"I even filmed a scene in the new Spider-Man movie, but I was cut."

Claire Temple was the thread running through the Netflix corner of the MCU. Dawson turned up in 32 episodes — e.g., Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders — so fans had every reason to expect her to pop up again.

Rumors had her tending an injured hero in Brand New Day, partly because the shoot lined up with Dawson being in the UK for season 2 of Ahsoka. Insiders floated that idea; the final edit disagreed. Result: the character’s MCU status is left hanging.

The new series Daredevil: Born Again pulled in a lot of Netflix-era faces, but not Dawson. Whether Claire Temple will return at some point — who knows? No confirmation yet.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Tom Holland, opens in theaters on July 31. Just a heads-up: one familiar face from the Marvel shows won’t be in the finished movie.
