Released as temporary exclusives on Sony hardware, the two parts of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series looked like they were struggling with sales at first. Now both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are out on other systems, which has clearly widened the potential audience. In an interview with Automaton, Naoki Hamaguchi, the trilogy's director, said they're selling extremely well. He also mentioned that whenever a new installment is announced, interest in the previous one jumps — but no concrete numbers have been shared.

They're posting very strong results. Even before Summer Game Fest 2026 the sales were steady; whenever Rebirth caught attention, Remake would see a bump as well — a pattern we've watched repeat. I expect Revelation to pull attention toward Rebirth in the same way.

Fans (esp. the devoted communities) naturally want hard copy counts, but I can say performance is better than many probably imagine. More people trying the earlier entries has, frankly, boosted my confidence ahead of FFVII Revelation.

I know people keep asking for the exact figures, but that falls under our IR (investor relations) rules, so I hope folks will understand.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be released on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC in the spring of next year.
