The authors of Path of Exile 2 have published a teaser for the next major update

The devs at Grinding Gear Games have dropped a fresh teaser hinting at the next major update for the early build of Path of Exile 2. Update 0.5.0 goes by the name "Return of the Ancients" and is due on May 29 at 23:00 Moscow time.

Concrete details? Barely any. GGG says the full rundown will happen during the usual GGG Live stream on Twitch on May 7 at 23:00 Moscow time. The hosts will be Jonathan Rogers and Marc Roberts. Afterward there’ll be a short Q&A with ZiggyD, and the stream is expected to include Twitch Drops — rewards are still TBD.

If you’re playing the early access, Path of Exile 2 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, own client), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

There’s still no firm 1.0 release date; earlier, Jonathan Rogers mentioned the team doesn’t want to push the full launch into 2027. After the official release, the plan is for the game to become free-to-play.
