Developers from the studio ProbablyMonsters have set a release date for the gothic action RPG Crimson Moon: September 1. Platforms: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series — take your pick.

Additionally, the devs published prices and contents for two editions of Crimson Moon:

  • Standard ($19.99):
    • a copy of the game.
  • Deluxe ($29.99):
    • a copy of the game
    • a post-release expansion
    • a set of ceremonial armor
    • an axe of the gods

Upgrade note: you can bump Standard to Deluxe for $10.

Here is the premise of Crimson Moon:

Gildenark lies broken. Once the kingdom’s jewel, the city is now overrun by demons, undead, vampires, and other horrors spawned from Hell’s rot. Humanity clings to one last order: the Order of the Blood Moon — and you are the order’s deadliest instrument.

You play a Nephilim: half-angel, half-human, forged to stand against the infernal tide. Wield supernatural powers, mix weapons and melee, shift into angelic forms, and execute bloody missions to fell monstrous bosses — the Dead Gods.

Key features of the game include:

  • Roguelike structure — runs are short missions with RNG elements (i.e., varied layouts, loot).
  • Brutal combat with executions tailored to each fiend type.
  • Online co-op for two players; run difficulty scales with player count.
  • A hub area — The Church — where you purchase perm. upgrades and talk to NPCs.

No Russian localization will be included in Crimson Moon.
