THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have sketched out post-launch intentions for Gothic 1 Remake and shared a short video to thank players.

Over the next few months Alkimia will be issuing bug fixes and small updates aimed at parts of the game the team thinks need work. Expect regular patches (e.g., stability fixes, balancing tweaks) rather than a single giant overhaul.

Work is also underway on several new features: a photo mode, a revived Marvin mode, official mod support, plus additional modes that change how character progression works. These additions are planned alongside the routine fixes, not instead of them.

Marvin mode is a callback to the originals — a dev-oriented tool players could flip on to use debug commands, spawn items, test stuff, or yes, run cheats (i.e., an explicit debug/cheat layer).

Mod support will roll out and then be expanded: the studio says more options for community content will follow after the first release (tools and integrations to come, etc.).

Alkimia is already thinking beyond this remake. They expect to reveal their next game in 2027, possibly during THQ Nordic’s digital show next year — a tentative timeline, not a sealed promise.
