The release date for the DC Universe series "Lanterns" has been announced

The series “Lanterns” (Lanterns) finally has a premiere date — the show launches on HBO Max on August 16.
Plot-wise, it follows the Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they get pulled into a dark, terrestrial mystery while investigating a murder in the U.S.; tone seems moody, not the usual cape-and-light routine.
The cast features Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garrett Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Chris Coy, Nathan Fillion, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Nicole Ari Parker, and others (incl. recurring & guest turns).
The showrunner is Chris Mundy (“Ozark”); Damon Lindelof (“Watchmen”) and Tom King (“Supergirl”) contributed to the script and prod. First two eps were directed by James Hawes (“Slow Horses”) — curious to see how his touch shapes the early episodes.
