Fresh Trailer Released for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Anime
A trailer has just surfaced for the anime "Sekiro: No Defeat", an adaptation of the game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Set in feudal Japan (Sengoku period, c. 15th–17th c.), the narrative centers on the shinobi Sekiro — the Wolf. He’s tasked with protecting the Divine Heir while war and ruthless contests for power tear the land apart; betrayals and desperate skirmishes punctuate the story, not to mention the odd moment of grim quiet.
Returning to their roles are Daisuke Namikawa (Wolf), Miyuki Sato (Kuro), and Kenzirou Tsuda (Genichiro Ashina). They’re joined by Jin Urayama (Grinder), Shizuka Ito (Emma), Akimitsu Takase (Hanbei), Takaya Hashi (Owl), and Tetsuo Kanao (Isshin Ashina).
The new anime is set to premiere in 2026; Crunchyroll will carry the title, so that’s where to look when it arrives.
It was revealed in August 2025 that a series based on the game was in development. Previously, the anime creators denied rumors that AI was used in the production — a rebuttal that, i.e., tried to calm speculation but instead fanned more conversation.
