In the Baldur’s Gate 3 community, another viral story worthy of the best memes has erupted. A Reddit user called akereth started a thread titled "How do I get Shadowheart to stop moaning?", and it blew up fast.
The origin is oddly specific: the player says they triggered the Illithid ability "Survival Instinct" on Shadowheart. She took Omeluum’s offer instead of Will’s, the player clicked the power but didn’t finish its activation — and now, apparently, Shadowheart emits slow, deep moans with every step (yes, really). TBH, it sounds like one of those bugs you screenshot and then can’t unsee.
Reactions ran the usual gamut. Some people wanted a step-by-step repro guide, others cracked jokes (steak-too-juicy memes, lol), and a few shrugged — no issue here, move along. This isn’t BG3’s first audio oddity: players have seen looping voice lines, stray spell SFX, and even romantic scenes firing off at odd times.
Larian has a reputation for letting quirks linger (sometimes they get rebranded as Easter eggs, sometimes not). IMO, most folks hope the moaning gets patched — at least for anyone trying to play without constant soundtrack contributions from Shadowheart. Others will probably keep the clip and never play "seriously" again.
