ARC Raiders Developers Talked About the New Probe and Its Formidable Guards
The devs behind ARC Raiders are dropping hints about the next patch, Flashpoint. This new object won’t lunge at you or roll across the map — it’s basically immobile and non-aggressive — yet looting it might still be a bad idea. Threats, apparently, prefer to hang out above the target. The trader Celeste refers to the device as the "Evaluator."
Flashpoint is due on March 31. Before this, the team showed Crushers turning up on some maps, hinted at new weapons, teased an ARC drone, and the very "Evaluator" made a cameo in a short clip.
Producer Caio Braga openly said that most of the team gravitate toward aggressive playstyles (devs = aggressive, apparently). To force themselves into calmer runs they built a behavior randomizer that shuffles how they act in missions — a neat little twist for testing peaceable options in practice, e.g., seeing how the game reacts when humans don’t charge first.
