Action-RPG Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe has lost its director. Benoît Richer — the dev who worked on Batman: Arkham Origins and Valhalla — took over Hexe in Jan 2026 and has now left Ubisoft; he’s listed as director at Servo Games on LinkedIn.
Responsibility for the project now sits with Jean Guesdon, named in Feb. as creative director of Hexe and head of content across the Assassin's Creed line. Different voice, different steering wheel.
Insider j0nathan claims Guesdon has already reshaped the concept and removed magic from the game — e.g., the witch heroine’s ability to control a cat is said to be gone. Take that with a grain of salt for now; it would be a clear tonal change if confirmed.
