Panic says Big Walk sold one million copies in a single week — a pace that Untitled Goose Game took about three months to hit. Surprising? Yes. Expectable? Not entirely.
The game launched on PlayStation 5 (and was added to PS Plus right away), on Nintendo Switch 2, and on PC via Steam, where it sits at a very positive 92% rating and reached a peak concurrent player count of 46.4k. Today, August 11, it topped the sales chart. Think indie vs. AAA: this is the kind of upset that makes headlines.
What is Big Walk? A coop adventure in a huge open world — puzzles, discovery, and social play. Voice chat, gestures, tools and toys show up in gameplay; groups run up to 12 ppl with cross-play support, so it’s mostly about hanging out and messing around together. The Steam page is here; the Russian build costs ₽849 (25% off until Aug 18).
Is this a one-week fever driven by PS Plus, a viral clip, or a genuinely sticky design? Could be a mix. Either way, devs with big budgets will be watching — and maybe worrying a bit.
