Gamigo has announced the relaunch date for Gloria Victis. The studio picked up the license after the MMORPG was shut down following about ten years of operation in 2023.
Plans for a comeback were hinted at a few months back, followed by test sessions; now the target is set: June 17. If you were watching the tests, this confirms when the servers should be back up.
The game mixes several familiar systems — e.g., an open world with strategic territory control, a crafting loop, an economy driven by players, and a heavy emphasis on PvP — but none of that guarantees the same experience players remember.
According to the team, beta wrapped up last month and the current phase is focused on final tweaks, bug fixes, and overall readiness (they say ASAP). They’re also promising further improvements and a substantial post-launch expansion called State of War; more specifics will be released soon. I’m cautiously optimistic, though whether the relaunch matches expectations remains to be seen.
