According to WhenToStream sources, Warner Bros plans to put the sequel to "Mortal Kombat II" onto VOD/digital platforms on June 9, 2026. It hit US theaters on May 8, 2026; WB itself has not officially confirmed that VOD date.
The story pits the fan-favorite champions — now backed by Johnny Cage (w/ his trademark swagger) — in a no-rules final tournament aimed at toppling Shao Kahn, a tyrant who menaces Earthrealm and its people.
Simon McQuoid returns as director, with Jeremy Slater credited for the screenplay. The main cast from the first film — Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, and Joe Taslim — are back, and the sequel brings in Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Martin Ford, and Tati Gabrielle.
