Insomniac Games' new PlayStation 5 exclusive, Marvel's Wolverine, which launched on September 15, 2026, has produced a split reaction between critics and many players.
On Metacritic, critic reviews are broadly positive: the game holds a score of 77 based on more than 120 professional reviews. By contrast, the user side is considerably less enthusiastic. As of September 17, 2026, the Metacritic user rating sits at 6.6 (Mixed) from over 1,800 ratings, with nearly a third of those ratings being low scores. Common complaints in player reviews point to heavy linearity, repetitive combat, a relatively short campaign, and a sense that the title fails to reach the bar set by Insomniac's Spider-Man games.
