Ted Danson ("The Good Place," "My Own Man") has been tapped to play a leading role in an upcoming Apple TV series. The premise follows Heidi, newly divorced and trying to put her life (and her kids') back together; instead of a clean restart, she winds up arranging dates for her dad — Danson's character — who lives in a nursing home, an oddly tender setup that could land anywhere tonally. He'll be joined by Elizabeth Banks ("The Hunger Games") and Rob Delaney ("Catastrophe"). Behind the camera are Liz Heldens ("Will Trent") and Matt Ward ("The Best Medicine"); shooting begins this yr. in L.A.
