The classic Resident Evil trilogy added to Steam, along with a piece of childhood
The classic Resident Evil trilogy is now available to players on Steam:
- Resident Evil
- Resident Evil 2
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
These releases bring a handful of updates — updated rendering via DirectX, more settings to tinker with, and support for modern controllers (e.g., controller mapping and vibration).
Price on the store is shown as $10 per game; a temporary sale drops that to $5 (-50%). Sadly, Capcom has kept its usual regional restrictions, so the titles aren’t offered in Russia.
Worth mentioning: the trilogy previously turned up on GOG and there it showed "phenomenal" results. If the cramped corridors and creepy atmosphere tug at a memory, that’s probably why some people are buying in again.
Also added to Steam is Breath of Fire IV (2000).html), the fourth entry in the old-school RPG line. It gets graphical tweaks and assorted quality-of-life fixes (i.e., the usual remaster touch-ups); distribution terms appear to match those for the Resident Evil releases.
