Creator of "Anora" Intends to Make a Film in the Spirit of "Italian Sex Comedies"

The next project in the career of Sean Baker ("Anora") will be a film the director himself calls "a love letter to Italian sex comedies of the 60s and 70s." Sounds like a cheeky pivot, no?

The film Ti Amo! (informally "I Love You!") is slated to come out via a new Warner Bros. arm, Clockwork, which is run by an ex-Neon mktg. dir. (Neon credits include "Parasite," "Triangle of Sadness," "Spencer," "Soul Collector," "Anatomy of a Fall"). Clockwork says it will focus on auteur and indie fare — at least that's the short version.

Baker will wear many hats on the project: directing, scripting, editing, casting — and producing as well. In other words, he’s deeply involved at nearly every stage.

Earlier, Baker released the short "Sandiwara". There Michelle Yeoh (of "Everything Everywhere All at Once") played multiple roles, which made the piece feel like a compact theatrical trick.
