A debut teaser for the third season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has surfaced. The premiere, we remind you, is scheduled to take place on November 11.
Time has advanced a few years since season two; the new footage suggests Sauron (Charlie Vickers) is consolidating strength — esp. in ways that push the show into darker, more direct confrontations rather than quiet scheming. Joining the cast are Jamie Campbell Bower (“Stranger Things”), Eddie Marsan (“Ray Donovan”), Andrew Richardson (“Pony”), Zubin Varla (“Andor”), and Adam Young (“Masters of the Air”). It was also revealed that Simon Pegg (“The World's End”) voiced the Balrog demon.
Behind the scenes, the showrunners and executive producers remain John D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Filming of the new episodes was completed in December of last year — so the wait is almost over, if you count teasers as consolation.
