Another anime has been announced in that much overused genre, this time based on the light novel Destiny Unchain Online: Kyuuketsuki Shoujo to Natte, Yagate "Aka no Maou" to Yobareru You ni Narimashita. It first appeared on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2020; curiously, the author (writing as resn) deleted their profile and the texts, only to resume posting a year later on Kadokawa's Kakuyomu. Three volumes are out so far with illustrations by Yachimoto—who also draws the manga. An illustration from them is attached.
Mitsuki Ko — a gamer with almost absurd talent, known online as Head Hunter Krim (i.e., his handle) — agrees to test his father's latest project: the MMO Destiny Unchain Online and a custom device meant to run it. A nasty bug turns the test into chaos: he winds up in a dense forest, transforms into a vampire girl, and can't properly close the session. Still, friends are made and the story launches into a messy, often amusing journey; it’s the sort of premise that makes you grin and roll your eyes at once.
