The developers of the large-scale fan project Skyblivion — a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion using the Skyrim engine — have issued a final call to the community. They want specialists to help push the game toward a planned 2026 release.

The recruitment arrives after a delay: the launch window slipped from 2025 to 2026 following criticism from a former team member who warned the effort was being rushed. Management, meanwhile, has described the project as in "excellent condition" — a contrast that has left some people uneasy and others cautiously optimistic.

In an announcement on Nexus Mods the team asks for experienced modders with technical specialties. Priority areas include quest creation, manual navmesh tuning, interior layout work, 3D modeling, sound design, and QC. Navmeshers are emphasized as one of the key outstanding needs — navmesh work here means manual pathing and fine-tuning, i.e., fiddly, precise tasks that eat time.

Candidates are expected to deliver work quickly and cleanly, and to cooperate inside the team: use the common task tracker, take part in peer reviews, and follow existing workflows. That insistence on process hints at previous gripes about internal communication (and yes, it’s partly a reaction to those complaints).

Right now the call is for seasoned vets who can jump in immediately; the project is in its final, high-pressure stage and needs people who can hit the ground running.
