The devs of Skull and Bones ran a streamed presentation and a Q&A to unpack some Year 3 content. Ubisoft Singapore talked about the first season and a few other additions that had only been teased before — now there's a bit more context.

First up: a new large ship, the Galleon. It's a massive vessel (devs label it a "melee fighter") intended for close-quarters engagements. Down the line players will also get access to two other big hulls — the Junk and the Fluyt.

Season 1 of Year 3 kicks off on May 12. Expect a new skill progression system called the "Season Mastery Tree," with perks that open new build possibilities and gear choices. During the season there will be Trials and new Abysses, elite boss encounters, and a bunch of QoL (quality-of-life) tweaks. Character progression is getting an overhaul too — you’ll be able to move mods and equipment sets around more easily, among other changes.
