Virtua Fighter Crossroads creators revealed a trailer of a sinister killer
The team behind the Yakuza /Like a Dragon games at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has posted a fresh gameplay trailer for Virtua Fighter Crossroads. It centers on a new playable figure — a shadowy assassin the studio calls the "Bokunawa Killer." Apparently this character will loom large over the main campaign.
A string of assaults on martial arts masters has put Vilasapar — the island city where events unfold — on edge. The trailer introduces the "Bokunawa Killer," a shadowy man linked to those attacks, and shows Pai and Cielo working to unmask him.
The project blends traditional fighting-game face-offs with beat-'em-up sequences. So, expect classic 1-on-1 Versus bouts alongside a story-driven, cinematic adventure that borrows the mood and staging fans might associate with Yakuza (i.e., long set-pieces and scripted encounters, among other things). Oddly compelling, if you like genre mash-ups — or, hmm, if you're curious how a fighting series handles a sprawling narrative.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads is slated for 2027 on PC and current-gen consoles.
