Capcom's PC sales outstripped console sales for the third year running, and digital purchases made up a record 93% of the company's revenue mix.
In the FY2025 report (year ended March 31) the publisher logged almost 60 million copies sold — about 5 million more than its internal forecast. PCs accounted for 32.17 million units, while consoles came in at 22.76 million.
This isn't a one-off blip. Back in 2022 PCs were already about 52% of Capcom's sales, and that share has steadily crept upward. A big part of the shift: Capcom’s pricing strategy on PC, which leans on frequent, large-scale sales that clearly resonate with the PC audience.
CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto insists PCs will be the main growth engine for the global games market. He predicts PC's role will only strengthen and, in his view, drive more spending across the sector — though whether the whole industry follows that exact path is another question.
